Can we quit it with the "religion makes people moral" crap?

And, for that matter, the "religion is a safety blanket for adults"?
A man who was found with a woman's body packed in dry ice in his hotel room told a newspaper that her death may have been in some way connected to religion.

"Everything that happened was for religious reasons," Stephen David Royds told The Orange County Register on Sunday.

Royds spoke to the newspaper in a brief interview from jail. He repeated the statement four times but did not elaborate.

The really bizarre part is this:
An autopsy of Trepp was inconclusive but her death did not appear to be a homicide. Authorities were awaiting a toxicology report to determine the cause of death.

Not a homicide? Then what, did she stuff herself into tupperware as part of her religious ceremony?
