Some people are saying that Bush cares more about saving his plummeting poll numbers than saving people in New Orleans. And why would they think that?

• Because he put Karl Rove, his political advisor, in charge of the reconstruction effort?


• Because the power was restored in New Orleans only for the extent of the President's visit?


• Because he used 50 firefighters as human props (and more as FEMA public relations) instead of as emergency workers?


• Because he wouldn't let photographs be taken of the dead in New Orleans?


• Because he faked reconstruction of the 17th Street levee for a photo-op while he was in the area, diverting resources that could've been put to better use?


• Because a food distribution effort he visited was torn down immediately after he and the cameras left?


• Because his visit to New Orleans delayed three tons of food from being delivered to people in need of it?


• Because the relief convoys and photo ops were happening at the same time?


• Because he threw a "Freedom" March while people were dying?


• Because he, Dick Cheney, Condoleeza Rice, and Rumsfeld were all on vacation while people were dying in New Orleans?

Couldn't be any of that... it must just be that they hate America.
